The Iceland Mariposa Butterfly Chair was designed by Antonio Bonet, Jorge Hardoy and Juan Kurchan for furniture brand cuero.
The chair was designed in Argentina in 1938 and was originally known as the BKF Chair. Kurchan was an Argentinien architect and designer as well as a mentor of the Modern Movement in Argentina, Bonet was a Catalan architect, designer and urban planner and Hardoy was a relatively unknown designer when he worked with Kurchan and Bonet on the Mariposa Butterfly Chair, which unexpectedly became one of the most iconic and imitated chairs in modern history.
The opulent Iceland Mariposa Butterfly Chair has a stunning butterfly-shaped form and plush fur finish that brings an air of sophistication to any room, whether used with a dressing table in the bedroom or as a showpiece in the hallway. The chair is constructed in metal with a grown lambskin upholstery and fur finish. This chic chair stands at 93cm tall, 80cm wide, 87cm deep and has a seat height of 36cm, offering hours of comfortable seating. It is available in a range of natural colour tones, calling to mind the fur of some of the world's most beautiful animals.
