Glasses that make drinking wine an experience

The glass manufacturer Riedel is seen as the most distinguished suppliers of wine glasses. This Austrian family business can look back on around 250 years’ history and is being managed by a family member of the 11th generation. The big rise came when people noticed that the shape of the glass had a significant impact on the taste sensation during wine drinking. The company subsequently developed the first gourmet glass series in co-operation with the Italian Sommelier Association. It was given the name “Sommeliers” and has been part of the product range ever since 1973.

Riedel wine glasses with a huge selection

The flavour variety of wine depends on many factors. In addition to the influences of individual growing regions, the grape variety, in particular, lends the wine its signature character. Riedel makes wine glasses where the shape is adapted to the aroma of individual varieties, ensuring the perfect wine indulgence. New shapes and ideas

The company does justice to its role as the pioneer of glass designs adapted to certain wines with its new O-Wine series. The glasses have been scaled back to just the bowl, doing without the familiar stem. The O-Wine Riesling wine glass proves that even an unconventional glass design can evoke thrilling flavour experiences.
