The Eclisse Table Lamp / Ceiling Lamp was conceived by Ludovico Magistretti, an iconic Italian designer, for the trademark Artemide.
The late Ludovico Magistretti's motto was to create a luminaire that combines innovative technology with expediency and functionality. He even received the Compasso d'Oro award. His designs are admired worldwide and can be found in such acclaimed museums as New York's MoMA.
The classic table lamp from the 1976 is simple yet innovative. The bulb is engulfed by double hemisphere. The outer hemisphere is fixed but the inner one can revolve around the illuminant. Users can adjust the direction of light and dim it as needed. The adjustable light intensity and direction gives it a humanoid ensemble. There are two versions of the metal illuminant available at AmbienteDirect featuring different colours. This 0.6kg luminaire stands 12cm in length, 18cm in height and 12cm in breadth while the cable length measures 160cm. Made of high-grade steel and thick lacquer coat, Eclisse Table Lamp / Ceiling Lamp with a globular shape conjures up an impression of futuristic furniture and beautiful robots that are featured in TV shows of the era.
