Girotondo Kitchen Box

The Girotondo Kitchen Box was designed by King-Kong Productions for the manufacturer Alessi, a firm that has won an international reputation for its luxury domestic wares.

King-Kong Productions was a studio established in the late 1980s by Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini, which developed pieces characterised by simple, childlike visual motifs. Stefano Giovannoni is a prolific designer responsible for many of Alessi's most enduring products. As well as pursuing his own conceptual, forward-thinking creative projects, Guido Venturini has held academic posts in Milan and Florence.

Made of glass with a polished stainless steel lid, the Girotondo Kitchen Box is available in 4 sizes: 9.3 x 10.5 cm, 12.3 x 10.5 cm, 15.8 x 10.5 cm and 21.6 x 10.5 cm. The sides of the box are decorated with a pattern of cutout-style human figures, an embellishment which brings a light-hearted feeling to this otherwise functional design. Ideal for storing everything from sugar and spices to pasta and rice, the Girotondo Kitchen Box is clean-lined and understated enough to blend in with a wide range of modern kitchens, while still offering a touch of the brand's distinctive quirkiness.
