The About a Chair AAC 12 2.0 Soaped Oak Base has been created by Hee Welling for HAY. It is listed as a Sustainable Choice product. This is because some of the materials it is made of are recycled and others are certified to be eco-friendly.

The About a Chair AAC 12 2.0 Soaped Oak Base has a shell made of recycled polypropylene. It is an engineered plastic that is favoured for industrial applications because it is light in weight yet strong and durable. The shell is a series of curves. It begins from the backrest with a straight upper edge that subtly curves out into a well-sized frame. The curved lines extend downwards to form a seat that is also well-sized. Slightly lifted sides and a rounded edge complete the shell. It is a singular piece that doesn't have any joints or fasteners. This works to give the chair a sleek silhouette. It is supported by a solid oak base. The legs are made of solid, rounded bars. Additional bars beneath the seat reinforce the chair's strength and durability.

The About a Chair AAC 12 2.0 Soaped Oak Base has a width of 51cm, a height of 78.5cm and a depth of 50.5cm. It is available in neutral colours with a soaped oak base. Anti-slip mats are available for purchase separately.
