This striking Akari UF3-Q Floor Lamp was designed by Isamu Noguchi for the Swiss brand Vitra.
Vitra began life as a small store near Basel and continuously grew to become a leading manufacturer of furniture, accessories and lighting fixtures for both homes and commercial premises. The firm also made a name for itself by acquiring licenses for innovative product lines from Europe and the USA. These include the works of designers such as Antonio Citterio, Norman Foster, Philippe Starck, and the Japanese-American lighting designer Isamu Noguchi, who created the groundbreaking Akari line of lamps.
Distinguished by its striking abstract shape adorned with large black circles, the Akari UF3-Q Floor Lamp is fashioned from hand-made Japanese Shoji paper. It features a frame made from sturdy bamboo perched on three slender steel legs. The lamp takes a single bulb, and delivers a warm and soft ambient light that creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Measuring 145cm in height and 56cm in diameter, the Akari UF3-Q Floor Lamp makes a delightful addition to any home, offering both primary light for compact areas and ambient lighting for more spacious settings.
