This eye-catching Langue Original chair was created by Knut Bendik Humlevik and Rune Krøjgaard for up-and-coming design house NORR 11.
With a design philosophy that centres around an incorporation of different cultural design aesthetics - including East-Asian and Bauhaus influences - NORR 11 have made a name for themselves as a design team that can bring something original to the marketplace.
The Langue Original chair is a great example of this. Each line and curve is painstakingly assembled into a single cohesive design that offers the perfect blend of artistic visuals and practical seating comfort. The designers state that the front curvature of the seat is meant to bring to mind the smooth lines of avian flight. Standing 78cm tall, 50cm wide and 51cm deep, it has a seating height of 46cm, making it a traditionally sized chair that will offer comfort to a variety of body frames. Its construction is made up of plastic and locally sourced Beech wood that is then waxed to a visually pleasing sheen that also serves to protect the wood and prolong the life of the chair. A great addition to any household décor, it also works in professional settings or cafés.
