Product description

The Uto Outdoor Suspension Lamp was developed by Lagranja Design for the manufacturer Foscarini. Based in Northern Italy, this company has been a pioneer in the luxury lighting sector since the early 1980's. Founded in Barcelona in 2001 by Gerard Sanmarti and Gabriele Shiavon, Lagranja Design is a busy, in-demand studio which creates exhibition spaces and interiors for everything from museums to fast food outlets, as well as furniture and lighting for domestic use. They've won the Red Dot, Delta Plata and IDEA Awards.

A versatile and novel lighting solution for the home and garden, the Uto Outdoor Suspension Lamp from Foscarini is made primarily from flexible yet rugged and weather-resistant silicon rubber. It consists of a length of tube inside which the on/off switch is located and a cone-shaped head sealed at the end with a clear polycarbonate lens. Including the tube, the whole piece measures 320cm, while the lamp itself is 60cm in length and 20cm in width. The entire body acts as a diffuser, while direct light emerges from the end. Extremely versatile, the lamp looks great slung from trees and fences in the garden, or suspended from beams or girders in industrial-style apartments.
