Time to shine – with our enchanting ceiling lights and lamps
What do all your living spaces have in common when it comes to furnishings? That’s right, they all need to be lit well from above. With our high-quality ceiling lights from renowned labels such as Artemide, you’re in the right place!
But not every ceiling lamp is suitable for every living area. Whereas the kitchen and bathroom should be well lit, dimmable LED ceiling lights are very popular choices, especially in the bedroom. These modern solutions also offer the advantage of being virtually maintenance-free. So how do you find lights that integrate comfortably into your furnishings? And which light bulbs are suitable?
Tasteful light sources for every room
When moving in, the first thing you’ll need to ensure is basic lighting. That might be spotlights in the living room, ceiling spotlights in the hallway or pendant lights over the dining table. Over time, you’ll add more and more furniture, ornaments and living accessories to your home, which should make for a comfortable ambience. But what if you just can’t create that all-important feel-good atmosphere? Then it’s time to look up and take a glance at the ceiling. Harmonious lighting is the most important thing in your home. It influences the visual impact of your furniture, your efficiency at work and even your personal mood.
Living room: There are various requirements to take into account when choosing a designer ceiling light for this room. A light with a dimming function therefore makes a great choice. However, this should not be your only lighting in the room. Pendant or standing lamps are better for reading or eating.
Kitchen: Intensive and targeted lighting is recommended when cooking or baking. This can be provided by any ceiling lamps with a focused beam, such as the models from Flos. These allow for different beam angles and can be rotated 360 degrees thanks to the innovative rail system. The modern designer ceiling lights are therefore also ideal for the home office.
Bedroom: As well as bedside lamps, don’t forget a ceiling lamp for general lighting here. These can be conveniently installed so that you can operate them from the bed using an extra light switch. Halogen lights above the wardrobe in the form of recessed ceiling spotlights also make great eye-catchers.
Bathroom: In this room it is especially important to ensure that your ceiling lamp is made of moisture resistant materials. Lights made of aluminium such as those from Delta Light or made of high-gloss chrome from Mawa Design therefore make ideal ceiling lights in the bathroom.
Garden: Elegant wall lamps or ceiling lights can also be installed in outdoor areas. Take a look at the elegant options from Metalarte and enjoy the bright light of the designer ceiling lamps on a warm summer’s evening on the patio.
Generally speaking, smaller rooms with low ceilings and passageways are better suited to flat ceiling lights – such as those from Decor Walther or Helestra. This will stop people bumping their heads or accidentally damaging the lighting.
LED light bulbs are now available on a large scale. They have a multitude of advantages, since they are:
Energy efficient
Long-lasting
Available in various colour temperatures
If the LED light is not built into the housing, it is important to take note of the socket type of the designer ceiling lamp when buying the light bulb.
