Design and quality rolled into one product
Take a seat on our wonderful furniture and experience seating comfort in a class of its own. The furniture doesn’t need to be of enormous proportions – it’s equally possible with quite simple versions. Just look at the appealing and timeless office chairs from Engelbrechts. They come without wide armrests or deep padding that you sink into. But they do give you plenty of room thanks to the spacious seating area, and they score highly with their timeless elegance in a Scandinavian style.
The designer pieces from the manufacturer Wagner also showcase a discreet look. The minimalist design fits seamlessly into a modern study. The four-armed bases ensure the swivel chairs stand securely on the floor. The lightweight aluminium frame allows you to place the furniture just where you want it without any heavy lifting. The elegant office chairs were created in collaboration with the well-known industry designer and shooting star Stefan Diez, among others. Anyone who knows him knows that above all else, his works are the epitome of innovative and pragmatic product design.
Not just a visual highlight…
If you are someone who spends many hours a day at the desk and in front of a computer, it is especially important that your new office chair not only fits in with the furnishings, but also has ergonomic benefits. After all, an uncomfortable sitting position can lead to muscle strain and damage to your posture in the long run. To avoid this, our renowned manufacturers are constantly working on new techniques and mechanisms to ensure that you can benefit from a high-quality product for years to come. In that respect, hardly any other label understands its craft as well as Vitra: The furniture from this Swiss designer furniture manufacturer stands out thanks to its elegance and comfort. Its creations are much more than mere visitor or conference chairs. Instead, you’re looking at real executive armchairs – disguised as ergonomic office chairs, with soft fabric or leather upholstery for instant relaxation. The seat height and the tilt of the backrest can be adjusted manually. The contrast of the black upholstery and glossy aluminium frame gives these desk chairs a soft and stylish touch. Other tasteful and back-friendly chairs are available from Thonet and Cappellini.
What to look out for when making your purchase
To ensure you can enjoy your new favourite for years to come, it’s important to carefully inspect its features. Various aspects have to be considered, depending on the purpose of your office chair.
Armrests: Do you often get up or have to repeatedly leave your workstation? Then armrests on your chair could be more of a hindrance. On the other hand, if you remain sitting at the desk for long periods of time, a comfortable rest for your elbows and arms is highly recommended.
Castors: If you have a large corner desk in your office and often have to change position, you should definitely invest in a swivel chair with castors. But make sure your floor is not damaged by the constant movement. You can either lay out a dedicated floor mat or look into whether special hard floor castors are an option for your office chair.
Backrest: A chair with a rocking mechanism is also a worthwhile investment if you want to avoid back pain. Whenever you sit back and relax, you relieve the strain on your intervertebral discs at the same time.
Headrest: The same applies if you can lean your head against a neck support when relaxing, for example while you are on the phone or thinking.
Height: Of course, the height of your office chair depends largely on your desk. A height of 66 to 75 centimetres is recommended. A height-adjustable swivel chair is the best choice, as it can be adjusted to suit your leg length. The chair area should ideally be at the same height as the bend in your knees.
When buying your new office chair, there’s no need to choose between look and comfort – our renowned manufacturers offer you both!
