The A330S Golden Bell Wall Lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto for the manufacturer Artek.
Founded by Alvar Aalto and three colleagues in Helsinki in 1935, Artek remains innovative in furniture, accessories and lighting design. During his long and distinguished career, the award-winning architect Alvar Aalto was responsible for many of Finland's public buildings and modern housing. His interior design developed as an extension of his architecture.
The A330S Golden Bell Wall Lamp complements the Golden Bell Pendant Lamp, which was designed for Helsinki's Restaurant Savoy in 1937 and is typical of the sculptural pieces of Alvar Aalto. Crafted from lacquered steel, the lamp has a perforated rim that provides detail when not in use and an attractive warm-toned corona effect when switched on. The slender arm that fixes the lamp to the wall bracket can be swivelled through 180 degrees giving total control of the light. This makes it ideal for use as a bedside lamp, a chairside reading light or to illuminate working areas in an office or kitchen. The overall dimensions of the A330S Golden Bell Wall Lamp are 48 x 26 x 17 cm with a cable length of 250cm.
