The German furniture manufacturer Tojo was founded in the year 2001. Ever since the company located in Schorndorf, Germany, has worked with two established success factors: The use of sustainable, natural materials and the cooperation with renowned, young designers constantly providing new modern designs for the label.
The Tojo V Futon bed is one of the bestsellers of the design company. It is steplessly extendable from 90 cm to 180cm like an accordion. From a comfortable bed for singles the Tojo V Futon bed quickly becomes a cosy bed for two. It is also wonderfully suited as guest bed. The bed is made entirely of natural materials and you will find neither screws nor fittings, and no lacquers or glazes on this brilliant organic bed. In the year 2002 it even received the “International Design Award” in Stuttgart, Germany.
The Tojo System Futon bed is also a piece of organic furniture by Tojo and a real space saver. It can be stowed away in no time, so that it can be effortlessly stored in the closet or under the bed. Contrasting conventional beds the Tojo System Futon bed is extremely easy to transport. For this reason the Tojo System Futon bed is especially aimed at younger people that want to be able to quickly disassemble the bed, pack it into the car, and move it to a new flat. In the year 1998 this magic bed received the innovation award from the Sparkasse und Handwerkskammer in Reutlingen, Germany, and one year later the International Design Award by the Design Center in Stuttgart, Germany.
Next to the Tojo V Futon bed and the Tojo System Futon bed Tojo also offers the Tojo Lieg modular bed. The basic module is 200 cm long and 20 cm wide and is extendable as desired. You simply choose the width of the bed, attach the single foot elements to each other, and lay the slatted frame on top, and there you have it: A great bed that is unbelievably comfortable. Designed was the Tojo Lieg modular bed by Eigenwert from Switzerland.
