Convivio LED Suspension Lamp

This brilliantly stylish Convivio LED Suspension Lamp was created by Luta Bettonica and Mario Melocchi for the manufacturer Cini & Nils.

Melocchi was one of the founding inspirations behind the company. Although ongoing innovation is a key aspect of his work, his sense of style is firmly grounded in the great 20th-century design movements, which perhaps explains why the Convivio LED Suspension Lamp has the look of an instant classic. For her part, Luta Bettonica - daughter of designer Franco - brings her own background in industrial design and architecture in setting the creative direction of her design practice.

The lamp consists of two hemispheres: one of polished chrome and the other a translucent glass lens that casts a beautifully clear and even light. Given 250cm of suspension height to work with, the Convivio LED Suspension Lamp really lends itself to ambitious and space-enhancing home design. Used singly, in rows or in clusters of varied heights, they subtly enhance the colours and textures of the interior. A 'statement design' it may be, but of the best kind: practical, versatile and on a human scale. It's easy to imagine the lamp over a dining table for family gatherings or dinners with friends.
