The fascinating Vitra Felt Glider DAR/DSR/DKR was designed by Charles and Ray Eams for the giant design label Vitra.
After tying the knot in 1941, Charles and "Ray" (born as Bernice Alexandra Kaiser) moved to Los Angeles and began working on techniques for the 3D moulding of plywood. However, the Second World War interrupted their noble intentions and moved the couple's focus to the development of leg splints for the US Navy. In 1948, the couple participated in the Low-Cost Furniture Competition at MoMA, and the man and wife also dedicated much creative energy to photography, graphic designs and exhibition designs.
This Vitra Felt Glider DAR/DSR/DKR has a depth of 1cm, allowing for its portability and flexibility: it can easily be moved from one point to another. The dark colour of the Vitra Felt Glider DAR/DSR/DKR will complement any existing interior theme or décor. You can use the Vitra Felt Glider DAR/DSR/DKR in conjunction with other Eames products such as the Eames Plastic Side Chair DSR Black Base and the Eams Plastic Armchair DAR Black Base.
