This amazing Night Clock Nelson Desk Clock was designed by the American designer George Nelson for the manufacturer Vitra.
Born in 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut, George Nelson undertook an architectural course at Yale University. Thanks to a fellowship, Nelson moved to Italy to study at the American Academy in Rome from 1932 to 1934. His migration to Europe introduced him to the leading modernist designers of the time and their major architectural works. Joining the editorial staff of the Architectural Forum in 1935, Nelson churned out a programmatic article on furniture design and residential building that attracted the interest of the head of a prominent furniture company, D.J. DePree of Herman Miller Inc. It was DePree that later introduced Nelson to Vitra, where he worked from 1974.
The amazing Night Clock Nelson Desk Clock measures 10.5cm in width, 15cm high and 10cm in depth. Its brass or acryl glass colour gives the clock an attractive finish, making it a stylish accompaniment for the Jan Kurtz Pizzo 40 Side Table or the Softline Metro Sofa Bed. Made from brass and acryl glass, this clock is durable and portable.
