The In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Oak was designed by Sami Kallio for the manufacturer &Tradition.

This Finnish company works with a stable of international talent to create pieces in tune with contemporary lifestyles. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Sami Kallio has a deep expertise in woodworking - something reflected in his designs, which frequently put a fresh modern spin on Traditional Scandinavian timber furniture.

Winner of a coveted Miaw International Design award in 2014, the In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Oak from &Tradition is 77cm in height and 58cm in width, with a seat height of 45cm. The legs and arms are made of solid wood ash, oak or maple turned on a lathe in a time-honoured fashion, while the backrest and seat are formed from thin yet durable compression moulded panels - a blend of the old and new that's typical of this designer. There's an Arts and Crafts feeling to the overall design, with its sinuous lines and thin backrest. Balancing elegance and honesty, the rustic and the stylish, the In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Oak is perfect for sitting comfortably in a country kitchen or in front of a cottage fireplace.
