The Lilium Garden Table was designed by the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) for the brand Skagerak.
Better known for large scale architectural developments such as the famous Lego House in Denmark, the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is also highly regarded in the field of furniture design. Concentrating largely on everyday items such as tables, chairs and sofas, the group has recently unveiled its "Lily" furniture collection of which the Lilium Garden Table is a part.
The concept behind the Lily Collection is to pay homage to the smooth oval shape of a lily pad by designing furniture with rounded corners and no sharp lines. The Lilium Garden Table features an FSC certified golden teak top with rounded edges and measures 160 x 90cm. Individual rounded slats give the table a rustic look, which is further enhanced over time as the teak lightens to a silver grey colour. Although perfectly suited to outdoor use, the teak table is equally at home indoors. The table is supported by stainless steel frames which are lightweight but strong, with the whole piece weighing 12kg. Standing 73cm high, the table is both simple and elegant and can seat four to six diners.
