Pedrali, launched in 1963, is known for its skilful blend of contemporary aesthetics with innovative materials and manufacturing techniques. It uses metal, plastic and wood to create furniture for both the home and public spaces. Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci were born in Italy and met in Florence while studying architecture. Their work is known for its restrained lines and industrial edge. Among their prestigious prizes is the iF Design Award.

With the Gliss Chair With Skids; Dondoli and Pocci have cleverly brought together a retro look with contemporary materials and created a futuristic work of art. The dynamic shape of the Gliss Chair is created from a shell of tough polycarbonate in either an opaque or transparent version. This shell sits on a chrome-coloured steel rod frame that incorporates the runners. The chair's design is both pleasing to look at and invitingly comfortable to use while being practical for both domestic and business settings.
