The Delft Blue Plate Carpet

The Delft Blue Plate Carpet has been created by Marcel Wanders for the brand Moooi Carpets.The inspiration for the design of this carpet was inspired by a patterned ceramic plate. It is a representation of the rich Dutch heritage which is greatly diverse.

The Delft Blue Plate Carpet has a spectacular motif that looks lifelike. One reason for this is the polyamide that the carpet is printed on. This synthetic fabric is a type of nylon. It is the one that is favoured for industrial applications because it is the strongest. When it comes to carpets, it is preferred because of how well it takes dye. Another reason the image on the carpet looks so vivid is the method of printing which is done digitally using a Chromojet printer. It revolutionised industrial printing with its capacity to print images at the highest resolution. Its results are enhanced by the fact that the printer is digitally controlled. The inkjets drop ink into the fabric without coming into contact with it which ensures smudge-free results.

The Delft Blue Plate Carpet is available in two sizes. The smaller one has a diameter of 250cm while the larger one has a diameter of 350cm.
