The Kushi 16 Table Lamp has been created by Alberto Saggia and Valerio Sommella for the brand Kdln. Kushi is a type of skewer used in Japanese cookery. In this design, Saggia and Sommella have taken the motif of a skewer and used it to create an original table lamp that is heavily inspired by Japanese lighting design. And the result is visually sublime and totally practical.
The Kushi 16 Table Lamp has a spherical luminaire made from mouth-blown opal glass. This luminaire has been blown in a way that depresses the top of the sphere, giving the impression that the lamp is being 'skewered' like a marshmallow or mushroom on a Japanese grill. The skewer element of the lamp is made from metal and comes in a variety of finishes, such as glossy copper and brass or black matt.
The Kushi 16 Table Lamp has a height of 16cm and the luminaire has a 16cm diameter. The opal tone of the diffuser ensures that it casts a gentle but insistent light without any glare. It also comes with a 180cm cable, which includes a transparent loose switch. Kushi requires a single bulb and the appropriate bulb with the G9 socket can be ordered under accessories.
