Renowned American architect and furniture designer Warren Platner was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1919 and graduated from Cornell University in 1941. He received the Rome Prize for architecture in 1955 and went on to work on numerous projects, including Washington Dulles International Airport and the Repertory Theatre at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Platner unveiled his seminal furniture collection in 1966, produced by Knoll International, whose presence in the world of furniture manufacturing spans more than 80 years.
