The Comback Rocking Chair was designed by Patricia Urquiola for Kartell. Spanish designer Urquiola based this design on the classic Windsor chair, which was first created in the 18th century in England. Kartell is a global brand that works with a range of designers to produce furniture, lighting and home accessories. What started in Italy in 1949 has become a true phenomenon in the home decor sector.
The traditional Windsor chair is characterised by the rounded back with narrow spindles. The Comback Rocking Chair combines these features along with modern geometric shapes for a new take on the timeless design. The flattened spindles catch the light at different angles, creating a multi-tonal effect on the base colour. This added complexity allows for a fascinating finish.
The comfortable seat is moulded from technopolymer and the rockers are made from stained ash. The juxtaposition between contemporary and time-honoured materials gives the chair an interesting old-meets-new vibe. Ideal for perching or curling up, this relaxing rocking chair is perfect for a reading corner or a baby's nursery in almost any colour scheme. The chair measures 100cm high, 58cm wide and 58cm deep.
