The J104 Chair Beech has been created by Poul M. Volther for the brand HAY. Volther was a leading light in Scandinavian functionalism and renowned for his industrial design, and some of his pieces are still shown today in leading art museums and revered as collectables.

The J104 Chair Beech is an example of the designer's work that is still highly relevant and in demand today. Designed in the 1960s, it has been reproduced by HAY for today's market. The chair is made from solid beech, and it sits somewhere between a formal dining chair and a comfortable easy chair in its design and attitude. The J104 Chair Beech has a curved, wide backrest complemented by a generous curved seat. Both are joined by wooden spindles that mirror the supporting legs. The chair sits within the launch of the brand's reimagined collection of Danish furniture classics, with modern sustainability touches.

For example, this piece is finished with water-based lacquer that has a lesser load on the environment than oil products. Available in various colours, the J104 Chair Beech has a height of 73c, a width of 57cm and a depth of 48cm. The seat height is 44.5cm and 40cm deep.
