Drop™ Chair

The Drop chair was designed in 1958 by world-famous designer Arne Jacobsen for the longstanding furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen.

Jacobsen originally designed the chair for the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen as a stylish, comfortable piece and is now produced by Fritz Hansen for the home. He then became recognised as a master furniture designer, celebrated for his famous Swan, Egg and Series 3300 design pieces. Jacobsen's work was honoured by several awards including the C.F Hansen Medal in 1955 and the International Design Award in 1968.

The timeless Drop chair has a unique design that is both eye-catching and classic, with a smoothly-curved, drop-shaped backrest and gently sloping legs that lend a welcoming vibe. As the 'drop' of the chair widens, the seat surface hugs the small of the back in supportive comfort with a 46cm seat height, 54.5cm depth and 45.5cm width. The chair's overall height if 88.5cm, allowing it to be used with a wide variety of tables and other furniture. Durable plastic and steel construction provides longevity and an easy-care finish that simply wipes clean, making this the ideal chair for dinner tables and heavy-traffic areas such as living rooms.
