The useful Magneto LED Reading Lamp was created by Giulio Iacchetti for the stylish Italian design company Foscarini.
Foscarini has been in existence since 1981. The company's first workspace was set up on Murano Island in Venice, famous for its beautiful glass. The design collective focused on glass until 1993, when they branched out into polythene and other materials. Iacchetti has designed many items, from kitchen utensils and skateboards to beds and wardrobes. His work was shown at the Triennale di Milano exhibition, and he has won several awards for his work, such as the Compasso d'Oro.
The Magneto LED Reading Lamp is a tall floor lamp with a uniquely flexible neck. Due to a magnetic connection between the bulb and the lamp stand, the beam of light can be moved and focused in any direction, as you desire. It is extremely streamlined and compact, with a slim design and no trailing cables making it a neat piece. It is made from metal and plastic, and comes in different colours. It measures height 120cm, cable length 170cm, with a foot diameter of 20cm. It takes 1x LED unit 5W bulb.
