The Pampa Mariposa Butterfly Chair comes from an original design by Antonio Bonet, Jorge Ferrari & Juan Kurchan. It has been reintroduced by cuero.
Swedish design and manufacturing company cuero chose to reinvent the original 1930's design by the Argentinian trio as part of a wider collection of similar chairs and stools. At the time of the chair's design, it won some awards but didn't become popualr in the home until the 50's and 60's, when it came to signify rebellion; a wave goodbye to bygone days of sitting up straight and smart. This chair, therefore, represents not only comfort but also independence and the breaking of 20th century societal shackles.
The term 'butterfly' comes form the wing-like shape of the seat itself, which is constructed of high-quality leather. The hairpin stainless steel legs cross over to create a striking finish to the base of the chair.
The Pampa Mariposa Butterfly Chair measures 83 x 93 x 87 cm with a seat height of 36cm. It is ideally placed in a large living area such as a lounge, conservatory or kitchen. The chair can be used in conjunction with the Butterfly Stool.
