Nuvola Rossa Bookshelf

The Nuvola Rossa Bookshelf has been created by Vico Magistretti for the brand Cassina. Magistretti first introduced Nuvola Rossa in 1977 and it has become a modern design classic. Featuring unexpected geometric shapes and a clever folding design, it offers a flexible storage space for books and other essentials that will also add visual flair to any room.

The frame of the Nuvola Rossa Bookshelf is formed from a main 'V' shaped element which combines with horizontal surfaces and diagonal struts. It includes 6 shelves, all of which are 100cm long. The shelves attach to the main frame via hinged joints, allowing the whole unit to be collapsed and packed away when not in use. Thanks to the diagonal elements, the bookshelf also does away with side supports, keeping the design pure and uncluttered.

The Nuvola Rossa Bookshelf has an unfolded height of 192cm and is 39.5cm deep. The frame and shelves come in a range of materials, including beech and walnut wood. There are also a number of finishes to choose from, such as natural wood or lacquered red and white.
