The Italian company Kristalia was founded in the year 1994 by two young businessmen that shared two very special passions. They were design and jazz. They showed their love for design by creating their own furniture company and named it Kristalia.

A year after the firm's founding, in the fall 1995, Kristalia presented their first catalogue. The company's target audience were middle-aged customers with a good income and the desire to furnish their homes in a timely and at the same time traditional fashion. However, the two founders soon realised that they actually wanted to design furniture that was much more modern and higher in quality. The typical Italian design was a feature they wanted to keep. This led to the originally very traditional Kristalia furniture quickly being replaced by new, stylish design objects. And these are exactly the Kristalia designer pieces we know today.

All Kristalia furniture is manufactured with great care and craftsmanship. Thanks to their yearlong experience in furniture production Kristalia collected a very good know-how, which the company applies constructively and makes Kristalia especially successful.

As soon as you first come into contact with a Kristalia object, you will notice that this is not simply some conventional piece of furniture. Over the years Kristalia has analysed every single piece of furniture in their selection to perfect every possible little detail. For example, if you take a closer look at the Sushi table you will discover a perfect 45 degree connection of the table's legs and not a single visible screw.

Every Kristalia product is only sent out when it passed a very strict quality control. Before packaging the opening and closing mechanisms of the tables are tested for noiselessness and the table surfaces are inspected for any kinds of faults. Glass table tops are examined under a special light that makes every flaw visible, no matter how small it may be. To prevent scratches that might occur when pulling out the table tops for extending the table the company uses the flocking technology. For this purpose the repositories are equipped with a protective, velvety surface, so that scratches are near to impossible. Usually, flocking technology is used in the automobile industry, as seen on car seals.
