The Umanoff Wine Rack has been created by Arthur Umanoff for the brand Audo. American-born designer Umanoff strongly believed that designs should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also functional and available to the majority. To this end, he created pieces using natural materials and recreated traditional pieces to make items that were both contemporary and functional. The result was versatile pieces that were of high quality, durable and attractive. Umanoff often worked with wrought iron, rattan and different kinds of wood including birch and walnut.
His tendency to create innovative pieces is clear to see in the Umanoff Wine Rack. This mid-century wine rack took a turn towards modernity with its powder-coated steel body, artificial leather holds for the bottles and touches of solid brass. It can hold eight bottles of wine. This newer version of it can be used in wine cellars or, even better, it can be put on display in a kitchen or dining area. Even when empty, this novel wine rack is a work of art in itself. The Umanoff Wine Rack has a height of 47.5cm, a width of 24cm and a depth of 25cm.
