The Tolomeo Mega Terra LED Dimmer Floor Lamp was designed by Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi for the Milan-based manufacturer Artemide.

Born in Ferrara and educated in Florence, Michele de Lucchi has worked for some of Italy's most prestigious brands. As a designer, he is best known for his Tolomeo table lamp created in collaboration with Giancarlo Fassina , which won a Compasso d'Oro award in 1989 and went on to become a style icon of its era.

Originally introduced in 2002, the Tolomeo Mega Terra LED Dimmer Floor Lamp is a large-sized, free-standing addition to the highly successful Tolomeo series. Made from aluminium tubing reinforced with tension cables, it stands 238cm in height and 103cm in width. Meanwhile, the diffuser comes in three different diameters 32, 36 and 42cm and is available in parchment and silk. With a simple push, it can be turned into an uplighter, and its long reach means it can be suspended over tables, seating areas and clusters of furniture. Its dimmer switch and choice of diffuser ensure that it provides a warm, soft light ideal for entertaining and relaxing.
