The Girotondo Fruit Holder was designed by Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini for furniture label Alessi.

Venturini was born in 1957 and founded the Bolidist group and King-Kong productions with Giovannoni in 1985. An architect, designer and explorer, Venturini states that his greatest inspiration and passion in life is music. Giovannoni was born in 1954 and studied architecture at Florence University until 1978. During his partnership with Venturini, he has co-designed the highly successful 'Girotondo' line of household appliances, metal and plastic accessories with the distinctive cut-out gingerbread man styling.

The Girotondo Fruit Holder is stylish and adorable in equal measure, with a fun and youthful design featuring gingerbread-man-style cut-outs throughout the bowl. This is an ideal piece for the kitchen, living room or dining table and is perfect for use as a fruit bowl to encourage all the family to eat more fruit. It can also be used for storing vegetables or as a bread basket, as well as storing kitchen utensils. Standing at 12.2cm high and 23cm in diameter, this is a compact bowl that takes up little space in the kitchen and resists rust and marks with its stainless steel construction.
