The Lattice 2 Wool Carpet was created by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the Spanish label Nanimarquina. Featuring eye-catching vertical coloured stripes and an interesting shape, this rug will be a superb addition to most contemporary interiors.
The experimental flair of this carpet isn't surprising given the Bouroullecs' history. Both Ronan and Erwan have a commitment to creativity, experimentation and thinking beyond conventional forms. This quest for originality has gathered them plenty of praise, including Compasso d'Oro nominations and the acceptance of their pieces into Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art.
This creative quality sits well with the Nanimarquina ethos as well. Founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, the label seeks to combine the promotion of traditional Asian craft techniques with artistic daring - usually with spectacular results.
To create the Lattice 2 Wool Carpet, the Bouroullecs used Afghan wool that has been hand spun and woven into a variety of well-chosen colours, creating an organic look that could have been created centuries ago. They have also created several sizes for customers to choose, with 246 x 400 cm, 185 x 300 cm, 148 x 240 cm and 80 x 130 cm versions.
