The Booksbaum II Bookshelf has been created by Michael Rösing for the brand Radius. Literally "book tree" in German, Booksbaum is a novel new spin on traditional bookshelf design. Taking the frame out of the picture, this range of shelving products from designer Michael Rösing uses a minimalist approach to radically challenge convention. The results are strikingly original.
The Booksbaum II Bookshelf accommodates a single strand of books or other items and attaches to household walls. Made from powder-coated steel, it provides a solid backing for treasured books, ensuring that they will be accessible and on display at all times. But the structure of the shelf is almost totally concealed. This allows the contents to take centre stage, showing off the artistry of their spines and covers.
Size-wise, the Booksbaum II Bookshelf measures 170cm tall, so it should have enough capacity for many people's collections. The frame is 15cm wide and 12cm deep, and this model does not feature a base. Instead, the 18.5kg unit fixes against the wall - although freestanding Bookbaum products are also available if desired. Intelligent, practical and imaginative, this storage product could be just what your personal library needs.
