The BK14 Sunbed has been created by Bodil Kjær for the brand Carl Hansen. First appearing in 1959, BK14 displays Kjaer's architectural background with an artistic twist. Engineered to provide exceptional comfort, this wooden daybed also betrays the influence of Cubist art, showcasing geometric forms in a wonderfully elegant composition.
Suitable for outdoor use, the BK14 Sunbed is made wholly from teak wood, which gives it a unified, harmonious feel. This teak is available in oiled or untreated finishes and all the wood has been FSC certified to ensure it comes from sustainable sources. The daybed can be angled upwards at one end to provide support, but it can also be flattened to serve as a practical bench. Sunbrella fabric cushions can also be added to make it extra comfortable.
The BK14 Sunbed measures 205cm long and 70cm wide while it has a maximum seat height of 33.5cm. The design has been constructed via a series of teak slats, allowing light and air to pass through, while keeping the weight manageable when the chair needs to be moved. It has also been designed to fit into the wider Indoor-Outdoor Series from Bodil Kjaer, making it possible to assemble gorgeous wooden exterior suites.
