The Elephant Dining Chair was designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl for the Danish Furniture label Norr 11.
Established in 2011, Norr 11 aims to revive the Scandinavian style by producing timeless furniture. The company partners with young ingenious designers as well as high-end suppliers. Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl work with natural materials to express beauty, elegance, and finesse. Their craftsmanship, which reflects passion for the Scandinavian design, is based on the authenticity of materials. The Elephant Dining Chair was inspired by ethnic details of the 1950s Japanese upholstered chairs. Their creativity resulted in this lightweight dining chair whose elephant ears gently curves around the main body to provide ultimate comfort. The duo is also recognized globally in the lighting and home accessories industry.
Made of solid oak legs, the Elephant Dining Chair by Kristian and Tommy measures 53 x 47 x 80.5 cm, the seat height being 45.5cm. The seat and back are upholstered in high-quality wool and a refined foam blend for superior comfort. The cosy dining chair is only 6.5kg, making it easier to move around while creating a relaxed feeling with an upright seating position. Overall, it is a modern representation of the Scandinavian minimalism integrated into Japanese twist.
