The Drachmann Garden Table 190 was designed by Bernt Santesson for the manufacturer Skagerak, a leading Finnish furniture company that has been in operation since 1976.

Working from his home town of Aalborg, Denmark, Bernt Santesson has a background in advertising and graphic design, but his furniture moves beyond these influences by drawing from a deep affinity with traditional Scandinavian carpentry. His most famous design is the Drachmann bench for Skagerak, inspired by the idyllic home and garden of Holger Drachmann 1846-1908 , a famous Danish poet and dramatist.

Designed to complement this perennial favourite, the Drachmann Garden Table 190 is 72 cm in height, 86 cm in width and 190 cm in length. It is constructed of eucalyptus wood and teak, which is very solid helping to anchor the piece in place on windy days and naturally weather resistant thanks to its high oil content. The table top consists of short lengths of planking arranged in an attractive pattern, with an opening in the centre for a sunshade. Timelessly summery in feeling, the Drachmann Garden Table 190 is perfect for dining al fresco or enjoying drinks with friends, and is suitable for the terraces of hotels and bars as well as private gardens.
