Company founder Peter Bodum, who established the family company Bodum in Denmark in 1944, has a philosophy that good design does not have to be expensive. A true classic conquers the global market

It all started in the middle of the last century, with the invention of vacuum coffee machines. The young entrepreneur was impressed by the taste of the coffee and started optimising the design. In 1974, when his son Jørgen took over Bodum together with his sister Pia, the company grew into a worldwide network. In order to ensure a strategic positioning at the heart of Europe, the company headquarters were relocated to Switzerland, creating PI-Design, a department where graphic designers, engineers and architects are jointly responsible for the innovative functionality. Today, the company is represented globally, launching its flagship stores in major cities and taking its concept of sustainability all over the world.
