90010/I Ashtray

The 90010/I Ash-Tray was designed by Marianne Brandt for popular Italian homeware brand Alessi.

Born in 1893 in Germany, Brandt was one of the most successful female designers of the early to mid twentieth centuries. The multi-talented Brandt worked in many types of media, including painting, sculpting, photography and homeware design. Her designs are considered to be the forebear to modern industrial design, making her one of the leading influential female designers of the twentieth century. A talented drawer, Brandt's self-portraits and still-life compositions are known for their haunting beauty.
