The Unna Chair was designed by Monica Förster for the brand Zanat.
One of the leading contemporary Swedish furniture designers, Förster tends to focus on creating streamlined, pure forms which make intelligent use of materials and cutting edge processes. The recipient of Sweden's Designer of the Year Award, she was also the co-founder of Zanat, a Swedish-Bosnian venture that focusses on the Balkan nation's rich craft traditions. These are on display in the beautifully carved wood of the Unna Chair, which received the 2015 Interior Innovation Award.
Made from oiled walnut wood, the chair has a vibrant appearance that transcends conventional designs. The backrest also features a scale-like motif, which has been delicately carved by the Bosnian team, adding texture to the walnut frame, and giving each chair a completely individual look. The chair is ideally sized for dinner tables and studies, measuring 52 x 51 x 82 cm, with a seat height of 45cm. It also comes in a range of tones, allowing buyers to choose a look which suits their tastes and the interior of their home. Possessing a classic minimalist look, it is ideal for use in various spaces.
