The Hal Cantilever Chair was designed by Jasper Morrison for the manufacturer Vitra.
Born in 1959, Jasper Morrison designs products and furniture for the label Vitra. He attended Bryanston School before joining Kingston Polytechnic for a Bachelor of Design degree in 1982. Morrison took his ambition a notch higher by undertaking a master's degree program at the Royal College of Art in London. In recognition of his devotion to art and design, Kingston University awarded Morrison an honorary doctorate in design in 2007. Together with a team of industrial designers consisting of former students, Jasper Morrison has embarked on the mass production of furniture using advanced technology.
One of the most prominent of Morrison's productions is the Hal Cantilever Chair, which measures 47cm wide, 79cm high and 49cm deep. A seat height of 43cm provides for a comfortable backrest. The plastic and steel tube materials ensure durability while the ivy green and basic dark black colours give it the flexibility to fit any theme. The chair can complement the Vitra Hal Stool Medium, Vitra Hal Stool Bar Stool and the great and stylish Vitra Hal Ply Wood Chair.
