The Chaise Tout Bois Chair has been created by Jean Prouvé for the brand Vitra. Formerly an engineer, the France-born Prouvé quickly made a name himself as a very talented product designer. In 1963, he won the Auguste Perret Prize awarded by the International Union of Architects and, in 1981, the Erasmus Prize for Industrial Design.

The Chaise Tout Bois Chair is one of Prouvé's most popular and outstanding designs. Made entirely of wood, it has a seat and backrest of moulded plywood-veneer in light or dark oak that is finished with a protective lacquer. It has a solid wood base that also has a protective lacquer finish. This 1941 chair that is also known as 'The Standard' was designed to be especially strong where the backrest and seat are joined so that it can effectively hold weight. It is not stackable and has felt glides designed to protect your floor.

The Chaise Tout Bois Chair has a width of 46cm, a depth of 49cm and a height of 80.5cm. Its seat is 42.5cm deep. It is available with bases and backs and seats of different colours, so this chair can work in any setting from a library to an informal seating area.
