The first impression of this lamp is that it is an upturned wide-brimmed hat with a smooth pebble in it. It is actually a dish-shaped shade made of lacquered aluminum. In it is a matte opal triplex blown-glass diffuser that is sphere-shaped. The shade can either be placed to be flat on a surface or to stand upright on a base. The on and off switch is located on the box-shaped base.
