This intricate Fiorella Suspension Lamp was designed by Nigel Coates for leading Italian design company Slamp.
Roberto Ziliani set up Slamp in 1994 with the aim of creating artisan-design quality lamps that were blended with the power of industrial production. He inducted talented artist such as Coates to bring this vision to life. Coates responded with his usual flair and created a multitude of collections including the Fiorella collection. With Fiorella, Coates has managed to blend the natural with the artificial into one epic visual.
The lamp is designed to replicate a ruffled boxwood bush, while the detailed metallic finish is reminiscent of the Renaissance forge of Benvenuto Cellini. The lamp comes in finishes of copper, gold and silver. Combining all three together creates a spectacle that brings to mind a surreal forest filled with eternal trees of precious metal. The Fiorella Suspension Lamp is designed to hang elegantly from the ceiling on a cable that extends 140cm. The light from the bulb at the heart of the bush diffuses a calm and gentle illumination throughout the atmosphere that engenders a peaceful mood and relaxed conversation. Add something other-worldy to you home today with the Fiorella Suspension Lamp.
