The Facet Outdoor Bench was designed by Peter Karpf for the manufacturer Skagerak.
This company from Finland has had a leading role in promoting Scandinavian style for nearly half a century, receiving numerous accolades along the way. Danish designer Karpf has a background in cabinet-making; he loves to work in wood, creating furniture with bold yet simple graphic silhouettes. He has twice been a winner of the IF Design Award in addition to garnering prestigious Red Dot and Bruno Mathsson prizes.
Made from strong, durable teak, the Facet Outdoor Bench from Skagerak is 81 cm in height, 55 cm in width and 150 cm in length. Its distinctive feature is the way the arms and backrest are on one level; creating a long, sweeping shape. An open, slatted construction lends a breeziness to this design. The arms narrow and flair outwards slightly in a manner that is subtly elegant, while also creating a comfortable surface for the sitter to lean against. A stylish addition to both contemporary-style and traditional gardens, the Facet Outdoor Bench is ideal for curling up with a book and a glass of wine in a sun-dappled corner.
