Manhattan Bench

The innovative Manhattan Bench was designed by Cornelia Norgren for Röshults.

Norgren pursued her education in the fields of Art and Form between 2001 and 2003 at the Per Brahe. She has a multidisciplinary approach, having obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree, and specialises in projects that utilise architectural technology. The designer finds the majority of her inspiration in urban environments, the hallmarks of her designs being clean lines, modern forms and innovative details such as cut-outs and compartments that bring extra functionality to everyday items.

The contemporary Manhattan Bench features a long rectangular shape with four interior compartments which can be used for storage. In each of the compartments you can store books, folders or shoes, creating your own customised storage solution for the home or workplace. The bench can be placed with the longest side down, ideal for use in a hallway for sitting while you put on or remove your shoes. Placed with the shorter side down, the bench takes on more of a bookcase feel. The dimensions are 93cm long, 30cm wide, 45cm seat height and 56.6kg, giving the bench a certain sturdiness.
