The Tie-Break Garden Lounge Chair was designed by Bertjan Pot for the brand Richard Lampert.
Dutch designer Pot has a reputation for infusing conventional products with very unconventional creative ideas. Always using colour and materials to add character to his pieces, he's a natural partner for German label Richard Lampert - a company which seeks to add "soul" to every single piece it produces.
The Tie-Break Garden Lounge Chair certainly has plenty of soul. Taking inspiration from classic tennis court furniture, this comfortable casual chair is a useful and fun addition to outdoor seating collections. It also features some unique ideas, such as the use of seatbelt fabric for the edges and actual tennis netting for the back and seat. Both fabrics are totally waterproof, while also allowing enough give to let users sink into the chair. The frame is made from solid powder coated steel, adding surprisingly little to the weight, so you can easily move the Tie-Break chair inside if needed, or follow the sun around your pool. This compact item measures 80.5 x 93.5 x 77.1 cm, with a seat height of 36.5cm.
