The Oda Big Floor Lamp Frame Brass has been created by Sebastian Herkner for the brand pulpo. The lamp is designed to flood rooms with light while avoiding glare, and Oda makes fine use of coloured glass and metallic elements. In keeping with Herkner's experimental approach, the result is an innovative floor lamp which mixes exotic touches with complete practicality.
When creating the Oda range of lamps, German designer Herkner crafted a "reservoir" of brightness which could fill the oversized balloon-shaped luminaire. At the same time, he drew on images of water towers, using their slender frames and bulbous containers as the basis for a strikingly original design.
Measuring 140cm tall, the Oda Big Floor Lamp Frame Brass is one of the larger entries in the series. It is built around an eye-catching blown glass diffuser measuring 45cm across, which rests on a cross-shaped brass frame, allowing the luminaire to seemingly float above the ground. The bulb fills the vessel with light. The lamp has an E27 socket. The light source is included in the delivery. When switched on, the Oda Big Floor Lamp Frame Brass glows gently, lighting larger spaces while not feeling overpowering - exactly as Herkner intended.
