The contemporary Pirce Mini Ceiling lamp was created by international Italian lighting and design company Artemide.
Founded in 1960 in Milan, Italy, Artemide have become global leaders in the residential illumination market. They are renowned for their design, innovation, leading-edge technology and environmental awareness - their lighting creations are always special and highly unique. Sicilian born designer Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà, who created the Pirce Mini Ceiling lamp, certainly has an eye for the magical nature of luminous appliances. He gives his designs soul and sees each product as a written story with a syntax of shades and lights.
Receiving the prestigious 2009 Red Dot award, Scutellà's Pirce Mini Ceiling lamp is a marvellous sculptured design that looks as beautiful switched off as it does turned on. Hand-made from just one piece of irregular-shaped white aluminium, it opens out from a slim disk to create a unique slender spiral. The LED or Halogen bulb is housed in the lower dish of the light, casting a soft, glare-free, ambient illumination upwards. It measures 36cm in width and height and 69cm in length, and it is can be used with a dimmer switch. This beautiful ceiling light will surely add a touch of class to any room.
