Sestessa Plafone LED Ceiling Lamp

The Sestessa Plafone LED Ceiling Lamp was designed by Mario Melocchi and Luta Bettonica for the Italian lighting label Cini & Nils.

Cini & Nils was founded in 1969 originally to produce home appliances and accessories, but it soon switched to creating high-end lighting. The firm strives to create a balance between décor and function and to create lamps with both perfect illumination and eye-catching style. Examples of the firm's innovative products include the Cuboluce bedside lamp. Shaped like a box, the lamp is turned on and off by opening and closing a lid. Another lighting gem is the Acqua suspension lamp. Designed by Luta Bettonica, it won the best Pendant Light award at Miaw 2015.

Evoking the spirit of a modern sculpture, the Sestessa Plafone LED Ceiling Lamp features a curved and grooved form crafted from white-lacquered aluminium. Its flexible design directs diffused light upwards to reflect off ceilings and indirect light downward. The unit has a diameter of 50cm, takes two 26W LED bulbs and is dimmable to optimise light intensity.
