The Tokio LED Desk Lamp has been created by Shigeaki Asahara for the brand PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED. Japanese product designer Asahara studied design in Italy before returning home to a freelance design career and big success in the niche of lighting accessories.

The intricate Tokio LED Desk Lamp is one of his designs. The original 1980 table lamp was a halogen luminaire but the revamped issue manufactured by PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED uses LED technology. Its shade resembles a mailbox and it is supported by four arms that are adjustable. The mobile arms make it possible to adjust not only the height but also the direction in which the illumination is cast. It has a dimmer and a sliding switch that are located on the base of the lamp for easy access. Made of lacquered metal and polycarbonate, the Tokio LED Desk Lamp has dimensions of 64cm at its maximum height, a width of 10cm and a depth of 13.5cm. As well as being useful as a working light, this uniquely designed lamp can provide handy illumination when placed on a bedside table. The luminaire has a built-in light source that cannot be replaced.
